While I can't necessarily miss the old NG humor since I wasn't around here back then, I can definitely say that it is a bit nostalgic to see all the old stuff. Sometimes I use the wayback machine, look at old animations or games, or make my own like Kill the Turkey trying to bring back the old humor and feel. But I guess the loss of the old humor is just development over time.

Yeah you're right, it still feels really shitty being late to the party like this.
I do miss edgy humor every now and then. It honestly does help desensitized your mind when seeing nasty stuff on the internet or even in real life. Depends on the person, of course. Nowadays, majority of people are flipping their shit over mild jokes even if the joke is obvious sarcasm. It's really annoying and sad.

That seems like a cool idea but:
1) I'm a musician, idk how to handle the responsibility of dealing with the posers who only like dark humor because in their eyes, it "permits them" to bully anyone they want with no repercussions (I don't want my site to end up a toxic hell). I can't dedicate that much time to moderating a site that's prone to that risk
2)The cost and coding language required. I don't know any other friends who know web dev, as much as I'm pretty good at Javascript, I know nothing about Php. Not to mention, the exchange rates between my home country and other countries is abysmally huge. I don't think I can afford a server for that, at least not now.

I would want to but I have RSD, so criticism with constructive explanation gives me depression. When you have an anonymous voting system, explanationless criticism is plentiful.
I just posted a fanart of my friend's OC of which the friend draws offensive "gyatt skibidi" brainrot lolicon for shits and giggles, and even know my fanart doesn't even sexualize the loli in the slightest (it was sexualizing her emo guy bf), it still managed to get me unscouted and it got significantly worse reviews compared to most of my other art despite being is literally the same quality.
So I can't imagine how modern day Newgrounders will react to me posting my darker themed arts based on my trauma or even just drawing a hot yet schizophrenic incubus pulverizing some dude's balls saying "I'm making mashed potatoes, shut the fuck up, mr. froot loop" (And yes I want to draw that type of gore for more of my comics but I'm scared to put it out here of all places)

You could say the same thing for the majority of the internet! Sadly, the wild-west days of the internet are long gone (which sucks in some ways, but is kinda alright in other ways). But there's still pockets of humor in that vein being uploaded regularly on the site, you just gotta sift through and find it :)

I wish we could have a full website or community or subculture of people who have the same wild-west humor but without the genuine malice of the original wild-west though. Like how we have neo-scenemo communities which participate in the subculture but throw out the fucked up stuff like grooming and self-harm which were huge problems in the old scene.
